so our wedding budget is 25k for 175 people, i was wondering if anyone has a similar budget and what they were planning on spending in each category? so here is what we have spent/will spend: same here….started with a budget of $8k for 60 people. i thought my budget would be about $10,000 for 40 people because i wanted an intimate wedding but it’s turned into 92 guests and closer to $25,000 max which is why we had an almost 2 year engagement lol floral- $600 (corsages, boutonnieres, bridal bouquet. stationary – $190 for invitations, $70 for postage, $10 for thank you cards, $50 for thank you card postage misc – the only other things i can think of are my veil ($40) and bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts (4 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen, $50-70 per gift so total was around $500 for all the gifts), card box ($20), shoes ($40) misc: $775 for two beer burros, $600 for a s’mores bar, $120 for a blacksmith (cocktail hour entertainment), $1300 for a doc our budget is in that range. i used the ww budget app.
my venue was more expensive, but we are not have a videographer. we are doing open beer, wine, and liqour. i think we spent $27,000 with 118 guests attending (invited 175) my budget is $20k and having about 170-180 guests. we are paying for this by ourselves. we don’t have a wedding party. decor/signs: $200 for tableclothes and a roll of cheesecloth we are going to use for table runners.
the alterations were more expensive than i anticipated, but it was important to have the perfect fit. sash: $86 i bought a handmade crystal sash from kirsten kuehn (shopkirstenkuehndesigns.com), which was much less expensive than buying it from a bridal store. j.crew hair clip: $73 shoes: $40 veil + earrings rental: $62 i rented my veil and earrings from happily ever borrowed. she came for the wedding and also did hair for the wedding party. i love her work, and she was less expensive than new york hairstylists. groom’s suit, shirt, tie: $1,930 flower girl’s dress, shoes, hair bow: $200 ring bearer’s suit: $312 marriage license: $35 central park license: $400 the conservatory gardens are the perfect backdrop for an intimate ceremony.
and it has a roof deck. catering + rentals: $5,647 we had a cocktail-party reception, which was less expensive than a sit-down, and it also made it easier for us to mingle with our guests. we had a heavy rotation of passed hors d’oeuvre from dish catering, and i selected menu items that would be filling, like pulled-pork empanadas. photographer: $4,137 spending on photography was a priority for us. instead, we decorated with lots of candles. cake: $294 we bought cheesecake and chocolate cake from the cheesecake factory and left them as they were. plus, it was much cheaper than a formal wedding cake. drinks: $512 to avoid the markup, we purchased the booze and mixers ourselves.
