3000 wedding budget

it was one of favorite days, and the start of a really beautiful life together that’s had and will continue to have many best days. instead of adding on rsvp and registry cards, i created a simple wedding website through the knot and had all that info on there. not only did she work with my tiny budget, she was fun to work with and really took the time to understand what i wanted. the day before our wedding, i got up at the crack of dawn and ventured to the la flower market with a dear friend. for the reception, my mom had a friend who let us borrow tablecloths, mason jars, and all kinds of cute little things that worked really good with our theme. in fact when i sent the link to theo, he replied saying they were a need (which is exactly when i knew we should spend the rest of our lives together).

personally, i don’t really care for the look of matching dresses so that made it easy. i also got two of them and myself “bride tribe” and “bride” shirts that we wore for a bachelorette beach day (i did get these secondhand). it was so nice to be able to relax after the rehearsal dinner and wake up in the morning to have a peaceful quiet time. while i had tons of help executing, as the bride the majority of the planning and coordinating was on me. and at the end of the most important day of all time ™ what i wanted our guests to leave knowing, and what i wanted to remember, was the goodness of god to give us this beautiful gift. i was totally overwhelmed, but now i have the fondest memories and i know you will too ???? i’m a grateful wife and new mama to little lilly!

$3000 wedding budget

when my husband and i had the crazy idea to plan a wedding in three weeks, the only thing we knew for sure was that we were flat broke. an elopement wasn’t an option for us as we both really wanted our families to be there. however, we had to cut costs in major ways. these days, even churches will charge a minimum of a few hundred dollars to host a wedding ceremony. while i checked with my church about hosting a ceremony, the $1,000 price tag was not going to fly. we actually rented out an old historic courtroom so that our family and friends could be present. by limiting the invite list to only our closest friends and family, we were able to host the reception in my parents’ backyard. my parents actually have a really great entertainer’s backyard, so it worked out nicely. for entertainment, we actually had a mexican trio play songs.

we actually had a lot of food leftover. and it was a wide mix of food. i actually ended up buying my dress off the rack at macy’s for $40 insteed of our original plan to buy it from terani couture. i only had an afternoon to go dress shopping so i considered myself extremely lucky. a family friend worked as our photographer and my brother was videotaping with our camera (who really watches their wedding video anyway?). we rented a hotel room for our honeymoon night and then took a short weekend getaway to temecula for a mini-honeymoon. my parents graciously footed most of the bill, with eric’s parents helping to pay for the alcohol. i hope that people can come to realize that money shouldn’t be an impediment to having a nice wedding. while the truth is i would have loved a fairytale wedding, the reality is that i will never be able to afford a wedding like that no matter what time in my life.

i’m not sure where you live but if your town/city has public parks that may be a cheap venue option. like finding a park that might have an outdoor amphitheater or stage so that you don’t have to rent a tent or chairs. or perhaps your town has a local arboretum that’s willing to host events. your food and your venue will probably be the most expensive things to tackle. if you can keep the cost down with them as much as you can then you can devote more of your budget to the other aspects. if you can swing it, it is worth a shot to ask. if you are getting a photographer, ask them what the price is without an engagement shoot. also, if you have a local college near you, you may be able to hire a photography student for a fraction of what it would normally cost. i’m not sure where you are located, but book a venue off season. if you don’t have luck with this, then try vfws, american legion, knights of columbus, and other halls like these. we have a local one that is $475 for 4 hours with the option of adding more time onto it.

you can search the “pre-owned” sites for never worn or altered gowns. it was a barely tried on sample at a small boutique. yes but we are having it at our church who are letting us do it for free i do plan on doing a donation to the church afterwards. you could always go for a small cake and have cupcakes that match. also ask friends and family if they know anyone who does baking for fun or on the side that could help lower costs. i know that no one likes to hear that but everything i’ve researched, the first suggestion they make is to cut down the list. you can do this! if you must have drinks beer and wine only or you can make big batches of something like sangria or rum punch. you can get nice plastic china, flutes and wine glasses for cheap from smarty had a party or amazon. i would reach out to the local college for a student that can video it and take pics. or use two students one to take pics and one to video it.
